All Flames Of War infantry and guns are supplied with appropriate bases. Assemble your infantry teams by gluing the figures into the holes on a base of the right size. Super glue is recommended for this. (Note: plastic cement, which works by partially melting hard polystyrene plastic parts and 'welding' them together, will not work with the flexible plastic figures in the Parachute Rifle Company & Platoon)
There are usually several figures with each type of weapon, so you can create variety in your teams. It doesn’t matter which mix of figures you put in each team, as long as the mix of weapons is right. Simply consult the colour codes below to help you base your infantry. Note that each line of circles corresponds to one base
Commanders and Unit LeadersParachute Rifle Company HQ teams and Infantry Platoon Unit Leader teams are based on a small 3-hole base facing the long edge. Commanders and Unit Leaders combine an Officer with an NCO and a Rifleman or SMG.
M1919 and M1 Garand Rifle TeamsBase the M1919 and M1 Garand Rifle teams of a Parachute Rifle Platoon on a medium base facing the long edge. M1919 and M1 Garand rifle teams have two Riflemen, an NCO and a running M1919 Light Machine-gunner. The other teams have three M1 Garand riflemen and an NCO. For every team armed with an M1919 built one team armed with M1 Garand Rifle teams.
M1919 and M1 Garand Rifle Platoon
M1919 LMG TeamsBase the M1919 LMG teams on a four-hole medium base facing the long edge. These teams have the 1919 Light Machine-gun (one figure has the LMG and one has the tripod) and an M1 Garand Rifleman. Use the Plastic Base Insert Sprue to fill unused and empty holes.
60mm Mortar TeamsBase the 60mm Mortar teams on a four-hole medium base facing the long edge. These teams have the 60mm Mortar weapon along with two 60mm Mortar loaders and a Rifleman. Use the plastic base insert sprue to fill the hole the 60mm Mortar sits on.
M1 Bazooka TeamsBase Bazooka teams on a small two-hole base facing the long edge. These teams have a Bazooka Gunner and a Bazooka Loader.
