Team Yankee at Frontline Games
On 8 October, ten enthusiastic players gathered at Frontline Games with one common goal in mind; win the Charlie’s Chieftain competition. While the contestants all had a strong Flames Of War background, this would be the first-time for most playing Team Yankee.

|
The scenario we choose to determine the winner was ‘The Last Battle of Tank 66’ as seen on page 107 of the Team Yankee rulebook. This pits a single M1 Abrams (Sean Bannon’s Alpha 66) against three Soviet T-72s. With the use of Battlefront’s Battlefield in a Box: Modern Road, we were quickly able to transform our World War Two table, bringing it into the Cold War era. |
The scenario was playing several times with Jürgen Rohde maintaining an undefeated record across the course of the competition. When Jürgen’s M1 Abrams destroyed two T-72s that resulted in the third fleeing the battlefield, he was announced the winner and claimed the prize of the Charlie’s Chieftains army deal. |
The Chieftain were then put to the test as five faced off against seven T-72s to get a feel of how they’d preform on the battlefield. This was our first Team Yankee event at Frontline Games but we’re sure that it will not be our last.
